What to Expect from a Domestic Cleaning Service in Leicester

One of the most common things people say to me before their first clean is — I'm not sure what to expect. Which is fair enough. Hiring a cleaner for the first time can feel a bit unknown.

So here's exactly what you can expect when you book a domestic cleaning service in Leicester — from me personally, with 14 years of experience cleaning homes across the city.

It starts with a conversation

Before anything, I'll ask you a few simple questions. How big is your home? What rooms do you need done? Do you have any specific areas you want me to focus on or avoid? Any products you prefer or don't want used? It only takes a few minutes and it means I turn up prepared.

What a regular domestic clean covers

A standard domestic clean typically covers all the main areas of your home. In the kitchen I'll wipe down surfaces, clean the hob, sort the sink, and wipe the outside of appliances. In the bathroom I'll clean the toilet, sink, shower or bath, mirrors, and the floor. Bedrooms and living areas get dusted, vacuumed, and tidied. Floors throughout get vacuumed or mopped.

If there's something specific you want done — ironing, changing beds, extra attention to the kitchen — just say so and I'll factor it in.

How long does it take?

It depends on the size of your home and what needs doing. For a regular weekly clean of a three-bedroom house, most sessions run between 2 and 3 hours. The first clean often takes a bit longer because it's the first time I'm getting the home to a high standard — after that, regular visits are quicker because we're maintaining it rather than starting from scratch.

Do you need to be home?

Not at all. Many of my regular clients give me a key or a code and get on with their day. I've built up that trust with people over years, and I take it seriously. If you'd prefer to be home while I clean, that's absolutely fine too — I'll work around you.
