Sunday is the day most people want to reset their home for the week ahead. But it's also the day you want to actually relax. The good news is you don't have to choose. A proper Sunday cleaning ritual doesn't take all day — it just needs to be done in the right order.
First thing: put a wash on
Before you do anything else, get a load of laundry in. It'll be washing while you clean and you won't have to think about it.
Open the windows
Fresh air while you clean makes the whole process feel less like a chore. It also helps the home smell clean when you're done rather than just smelling of products.
Start upstairs, work down
Work from the top of the house down. Strip and change bedding if needed, dust bedrooms, wipe surfaces, and vacuum. Then do the bathroom. Move downstairs — wipe kitchen surfaces, clean the hob, empty bins, mop the floor, then living room. Don't forget a quick wipe of the hallway — it's the first thing you and your guests see.
Light a candle
Not a cleaning tip exactly — but finishing with something that makes the home smell good is underrated. After all that work, you want to actually enjoy the result.
If you do this every week, you can get through it in about an hour and a half for an average three-bedroom home. If you'd rather hand the Sunday reset to someone else — 📞 07453 290180 | 📍 Leicester and surrounding areas
